摘要

An attempt was made to identify suitable cotton species/genotypes for different rainfed agro-ecological situations of Marathwada region of Maharashtra state. Six situations were marked on the basis of rainfall pattern and soil depth. The genotypes of Gossypium arboreum viz., J. Tapti and NA-398 were found to be the best performers in four agro-ecological situations viz., S1 (Deep soil+medium high-high rainfall), S2 (Deep soil+medium rainfall), S3 (Medium soil+medium-medium high rainfall) and S6 (Shallow soil+low-medium rainfall). Both G. arboreum and hirsutum hybrids/varieties (NHH-44/NH-545) gave at par yield under S4 (Medium soil+medium rainfall) and S5 (Shallow soil+medium-medium high rainfall) situations.
