摘要

Some physicians and pathologists seem to be highly organized by nature, while others achieve greater degrees of entropy. Maintaining organization in a life, in an office, or in a journal is not an easy matter, and many of us struggle daily against the buffeting winds of disorder. Meetings are commonly utilized as a tool for bringing order out of chaos, but certainly after attending multiple administrative meetings, one might wonder if the time spent and the order achieved are sufficiently proportional. For this correspondent, at least, a day punctuated by meetings tends to feel like a day frittered away. However, the complexity of properly running a modern laboratory does entail utilizing various strategies to enhance organization. Computerization, automation and meetings can all be crucial elements in the daily struggle, as all are components of non-medical dermatopathology (also known as administration).
