摘要

Solutions to the Gross-Pitaevskii equations are obtained in the hydrodynamic approximation for a repulsive Bose gas that expands after a quasi-one-dimensional or quasi-two-dimensional trap is removed. The results are expressed in terms of measurable parameters, such as the initial condensate size and the oscillation frequencies of trapped particles. Three-dimensional effects are calculated by a variational method. The analytical results are in good agreement with available experimental data.
