摘要

As_2O_3 is oxidized to AsF_5 at 250 deg C by elemental fluorine.The synthesis that is described represents a convenient approach for the preparation of AsF_5 on a 30-40 g scale,requiring only commercially available As_2O_3 and elemental fluorine.Arsenic pentafluoride is usually prepared by fluorination of elemental arsenic [1] or As_2O_3 [2] in a flow system.Other methods include fluorination of AsF_3 at low temperatures under static conditions [3-5] or fluorination of As powder at-196 deg C [6] in a nickel can.
