摘要

The rehabilitation of a patient with a flexor tendon injury necessitates a careful approach based on principles of anatomy, biomechanics, wound healing, and patient values and expectations. In addition to prioritizing these complex and interrelated factors, the authors of the current study advocate activity modification based on perspectives of patients 6-12 months after flexor tendon repair and rehabilitation. Clinical interpretation of this article will be pursued through review of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF), discussion of self-report outcome measures to facilitate attention to activity and participation, and consideration of the contextual, personal factors that contribute to adherence.
