摘要

Over the course of editing the Journal of Health Communication: International Perspectives, I have been engaged in a variety of issues and ideas related to health communication. Some of these presentations, including addresses at the United Nations, the Leiter lecture at the U.S. National Library of Medicine, and the keynote on Cancer Risk Communication at the U.S. National Cancer Institute, have been published in prior editions. This year, I was selected to offer testimony to the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Committee, Subcommittee on International Organizations, Human Rights and Oversight, on ideas in achieving the Millennium Development Goals. This issue's editorial presents the testimony in its entirety. During the questioning period relating to polio, I also was able to reference the Journal as well as the special issues on polio communication.
