The Journal of Mathematics Teacher Education (JMTE) is widely acknowledged as truly,an international journal: Articles are written by authors from different continents andnations, religious and racial, portraying a range of realities. JMTE strives to publish articlesthat are relevant to mathematics educators (researchers and practitioners) around the globe,working in different, social and cultural contexts. The common ground is that mathematicseducators, whenever they are, are committed to improve the learning and teaching ofmathematics. With this aim in mind, mathematics educators are constantly in quest forvarious types of articles, including those that offer new perspectives on theories and practice in mathematics teacher education;discuss teachers' knowledge, skills, attitudes, beliefs, practices, and the relationshipamong them; suggest innovative instructional practices; describe qualitative and quantitative tools to assess the impact of mathematics teachereducation; and professional development programs on teachers' learning as well as on students'achievements.
