It is shown that the correlation between the excess specific heat, C-exc, at temperatures 1 K < T < 20 K and the fragility of glasses is not conclusive, but the peak temperatures of C-exc/T-3 seem to correlate with the Debye temperature, Theta(D), of the materials. The latter agrees approximately with the prediction of a recently proposed interstitial model. (C) 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. [References: 56]
