The aim of this study was to investigate the usefulness of hair to monitor the body content level of polonium activity, the utility of animals hair as a non-invasive indicator of exposure for natural Po-210. Among Polish dogs the highest Po-210 concentrations were measured in 2 years old Shih Tzu and Bichon Maltese, small longhair males. Among Norwegian, Po-210 concentrations were much higher and its highest values were measured in hair collected from 1 year old Greenland Dog and 3 years old Alaskan Malamute, also males. Mainly dogs' gender and diet influenced the values of Po-210 concentrations in analyzed samples.
