摘要

This paper presents an implementation of a low cost speed control scheme for a permanent magnet Brushless dc (PMBLDC) motor drive system. The developed controller ofPMBLDC motor drive system is realized using low cost, easily available analog and digital ICs. The proposed control 'scheme consists ofa speed estimator, commutation logic, speed and current controller, isolation and amplification circuits and an inverter. The proportional integral (P1) speed controller, which is widely used in the industries, is implemented to achieve a variable speed drive. A current controlled voltage source inverter (CC- VSI) is used tofred the PMBLDC motor. The experimental results are presented in diflerent transient conditions such as starting, braking and speed reversal to demonstrate the four-quadrant operation of the developed PMBLDC motor drive system.
