A new acetophenone derivative 2-hydroxy-4,6-dimethoxyacetophenone (1) along with alpha-santonin and 5-hydroxy-7,4'-dimethoxy-flavone have been isolated form the aerial parts of Artemisia maritima. Artemisia maritima (family Compositae) is deobstruent, stomachic, laxative and tonic.
