The tridentate Schiff base sulfur donor ligand forms complexes with divalent Zn, Cd and Hg. The complexes are four-coordinated with a tetrahedral geometry around the metal ions. The mass spectral data also support the assigned metal and ligand ratios. Metal chelates are more toxic in comparison with ligand.
