Thiazolylazo derivatives of three beta-diketones in which the diketo function attached directly to olefinic linkage(s)' [dicinnamoylmethane,acctylcinnamoylmethane and benzoylcinnamoylmethane] have been synthesized and characterized.Analytical,IR,~1H NMR and mass spectral data indicate that the compounds exist in the intramolecularly hydrogen bonded azo-eno) tautomeric form.Monobasic tridentate coordination of the compounds in their [ML_2] complexes [M=Ni~(II),Cu~(II) and Zn~(II)] has been established on the basis of analytical and spectral data.
