Innovative packaging plays a key role in marketing products successfully to consumers and, as this brief review highlights, plays an increasing role in prolonging the shelf life and the quality of coffee and cocoa-based products. UK-based Amcor Flexibles won no less than five awards in the recent 2004 Flexible Packaging Association Competition including its Highest Achievement Award, which is given to the retail packaging which receives the highest overall scores in four categories: Packaging Excellence, Environmental Achievement Printing Achievement and Technical Innovation.
