As I mentioned in an earlier review, it is always interesting to see that what happens within the UK, is mirrored or amplified in other localities. Drug errors and other untoward incidents are evidently current issues on a global scale, and are unsurprisingly worsened by shortages of nursing staff. Quantitative surveys can be helpful here, but they have limitations too. As a rule of thumb experimental work can be definitive by exploring the relationship between variables, so that cause and effect can be demonstrated. However, this has ethical implications for studies where potential patient harm may result.
