In the last 5 years, for-profit and not-for-profit biorepositories have developed innovative ways to source for tissue, fund the collection and exchange specimens. Unfortunately, getting good quality, well annotated biospecimen, and biospecimen from minority/underserved populations on demand and within budget remains a challenge. It is important that, within the coming years, new strategies are developed to reduce acquisition cost and increase availability and choice.
