Among the golf club sets, driver bas to have the longest length and the most light weight. The head's weight is around 190 g and the bead's volume should be more than 300 ml. When the ball is bit by using the driver, about one ton of impact load is applied on the surface of the club bead and the load is repeated more than ten thouthands times during the life time. Before titanium head was developed for the first time in 1990 persimon, stainless steel and CFRP had been used as the head materials in the past in order to overcome this severe conditions and it is in the middle of the golden age right now. As the face materials, beta-type titanium alloys which have high strength such as SP-700 and 15Mo-5Al-3Zr are used widely.
