摘要

Photoperiodism is one of the most significant and complex aspect of interaction between plants and their environment. These responses to daylength enables living organisms adapt to seasonal changes in their environments. In tropical and subtropical latitudes where the seasonal day length changes are relatively small, many plants are photoperiodic, using daylength to synchronise their reproductive cycles. Rice (Oryza sativa) is classified as a facultative short-day (SD) plant and heading is accelerated under short day conditions and delayed under long day (LD) conditions, therefore time response of different rice genotypes are different. This study aimed at assessing the heading response of African upland rice genotypes under different cropping regimes in Miyakojima.
