This paper describes the effect of the angular momentum around the tillage axle of a reverse-rotational rotary tiller. It examines rear direction clod throwing using a short scoop surface blade fordeep tillage. To achieve good clod throwing conditions, a higher speed of the rotary axle is needed.This is obtained by increasing the ratio of the angular momentum of thrown clods to the angularmomentum around the axle. The efficiency of the power requirement of the rotary tiller becomes high.Based on the trajectories of the thrown clods and the torque of tillage axle, the peripheral speed of therotary blade is calculated at approximately 5.5-6.0m/s. This rotary axle speed is more than 30 percentof the presently marketed reverse-rotational rotary tiller.
