摘要

Variation of milling ratio and broken ratio with time during rice milling at various moisture contents ofJapanese short-grain rice and rotor velocities were measured using a compact vertical shapedabrasive type milling machine. Results show that variation of milling ratio with time could beexplained using an empirical equation which closely fitted the measured values. Next, variation ofbroken ratio with milling ratio was analyzed, and an equation was introduced which explained therelationship between dimensionless milling ratio and broken rice ratio. Results show that calculatedvalues were explained closely to the measured values.It was also observed that rigidity and sphericity depends on the milling ratio.
