The Italian fresh-cut apple supplier is working hard to boost sales of fresh-cut apples getting involved in a number of school fruit schemes over the past couple of years. VOG Products, a leading apple processing company owned by the South Tyrolean Fruit Grower Cooperatives, will present its range of fresh-cut apple bags as the 'perfect school fruit' at this year's Freshconex trade exhibition, which takes place In Berlin alongside Fruit Logistica on 3-5 February 2010. Supplying schoolchildren with ahealthy alternative to the kinds of snacks with which they have traditionally been presented is a major priority for the company this year. According to studies published by the European Commission, approximately 22m children in the EU's 25 member states are overweight, with approximately 5.1m of them suffering from obesity.
