摘要

Japanese Earth Observation Satellite Programs; JERS-1, ADEOS and TRMM have demonstrated that Japanese science and technology have led the world in the development of earth observation systems and the earth observation data applications. Next generation earth observation satellite programs; ADEOS-II and ALOS are expected in the world. Corresponding to the earth science and the application needs, for the research and development of innovative observation systems and the continuous earth observation, future earth observation missions; GCOM-A1, B1, GPM and Earth CARE are in the concept design and research phase. This paper describes the overview of these missions and their technical issues.
