Mostly bright prospects for the chemical industry, at least in North America, redounded to the benefit of industry leaders in 2014. The average total compensation for the 244 executives listed in CW's annual executive compensation survey totaled about $3.58 million in 2014, up nearly 29% from 2013. The median year-on-year (YOY) salary increase for named executive officers (NEOs) in 2014 was 15%, up about 6% YOY. NEOs include the CEO, CFO, and other top-paid executives at public US companies— including COOs, general counsels, and, often, division heads. SEC requires the disclosure of NEO compensation.
