Despite a host of factors driving the push toward more widespread access to low-risk medications,US consumers still have only two options:buy them over the counter when possible,or see a doctor for a prescription.In countries like Great Britain,Australia,and Canada,however,a third alternative is available that,if instituted in the US,could increase the number of drugs being switched from prescription status.This scenario and others are being examined in a comprehensive market study soon to be published by Kline & Company.
