Clariant is a leading manufacturer of colour and additive concentrates for the plastics industry, supplying to discerning customers in the packaging, consumer goods, medical, textile and automotive industries, amongst others. The Masterbatches Business Unit (BU) achieved sales of CHF 1,123-mn in 2013, with an EBITDA margin of 13% before pre-exceptionals. The geographical footprint of the business is dominated by Europe (43% share), but with a significant presence in the emerging markets of Asia-Pacific (17%) and Latin America (9%). The business is served by more than 50 production sites across the world in 30 countries.
