A US federal judge has rejected several parts of a food industry challenge to the state of Vermont’s genetically modified food labelling law and denied the plaintiffs’ bid to keep the state from implementing the measure while the lawsuit is pending. District Judge Christina Reiss found that the Grocery Manufacturers Association (GMA) and other food industry plaintiffs had shown neither a likelihood they would prevail on the merits nor “a sufficient degree of harm” from the legislation to justify a preliminary injunction.
