The European Commission has confirmed that active ingredients considered “low-risk” and those deemed likely to trigger hazard criteria will be given priority in the next programme for renewing existing EU agrochemical approvals. The fourth renewal programme, called AIR-4, covers ais that have approval expiry dates in 2019 to 2021. The ai groupings have been issued as an Implementing Decision in the EU Official Journal. Details of the ais in each group and the submission deadlines were given in a draft working document issued in July.
