Imports of “fine chemical” pesticides into Brazil fell by 11% in 2015 to some $3,081 million, according to the Brazilian fine chemicals association, the Abifina. It was the first fall in imports on the Abifina study since 2009. Imports have trebled since that market bottom of $1,122 million. Exports were also down, falling some 15% to $278 million. The balance of trade improved, falling from a deficit of $3,139 million to $2,803 million.
