Recent budget cuts amid polarization on Capitol Hill and concerns about the US' large fiscal deficit will hit the quality and breadth of energy information and data the US produces. The fiscal-year (FY) 2011 budget for the Energy Information Administration (EIA) was sliced by nearly 14% versus the previous year, to $95.4 million from $110.6 million. A bulk of the cuts will begin in June.
