Japan’s Nuclear and Industrial Safety Agency (Nisa) presented last week a draft report endorsing the test results of Kansai Electric Power’s Ohi No. 3 and No. 4 nuclear reactors to a panel of experts for discussion, as the country tries to progress toward new nuclear approvals in the wake of last year’s Fukushima crisis. The report would be subsequently incorporated with recommendations made by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission, which is due to arrive in Tokyo on Jan. 23-31 (IOD Jan.19’12).
