Myanmar has awarded 16 out of 18 blocks offered in its onshore upstream bid round, with Italy's Eni winning two tracts and emerging as the country's biggest Western newcomer after most economic sanctions have been lifted. Pacific Hunt Energy Corp., described by the Myanmese energy ministry as Canadian, also scooped up two blocks, the first such investment by a Canadian company since the late 1990s.
