But critical to any further success will be an overhaul of the region's agriculture, with the role of affordable fertilizers identified as an essential component. Great Quest (TSX-V:GQ) believes its Tilemsi phosphate project in northeast Mali will tap directly into this requirement. The company first started to review phosphate opportunities in Mali in 2008. In 2009, it secured the Tilemsi concession from Mali's ministry of mines. The company then expanded its holdings with the acquisition of the Tarkint Est concession in 2010. One year later, it secured the Aderfoul concession. Total holdings now stand at just over 1,200 km~2.
