Houston-BASF Corp. and Total Petrochemicals & Refining USA Inc. (TPRI) have signed agreements to combine their two existing joint ventures into a new venture that will be responsible for their mutual operations in Port Arthur, Texas. BASF and TPRI (formerly Fina Oil and Chemical Co.) are consolidating the ventures previously known as BASF Fina Petrochemicals LP and Sabina Petrochemicals LLC, and renaming the merged entity BASF Total Petrochemicals LLC. BASF retains a 60% interest in the new venture and TPRI retains a 40% holding.
