Most recently executive vice president, he succeeds Nick Carter, who will continue as president and chief executive of parent company Arabian American Development Co. Evonik Corp.—John Rolando has been named president to replace Tom Bates, who retired on 1 Apr. Rolando had been president of the company's Performance Polymers North America business unit.
