London—Indorama Ventures (IVL) is temporarily suspending production at its 168,000-t/y Workington, UK, polyethylene terephtha-late (PET) facility, due to declining margin performance. The company attempted to seek alternatives, but formally decided to mothball the plant "while industry margins remain depressed." Production is expected to remain suspended for up to one to two years, IVL said, adding that it will continue to serve its UK customers from other plants in Europe, without any interruption.
