Monterrey-Alpek, in reporting its first quarter 2016 results, announced it has successfully completed the acquisition of BASF's 20,000-t/y expandable polystyrene (EPS) plant in Concon, Chile (PCN, 26 Oct 2015, p1). "The facility began operations under Alpek's control as of 1 Apr. 2016, thus complementing our assets in the region," the company said. Value of the transaction was not disclosed.
