摘要

The magnetic nature of the Li[MgxMn2-x]O-4 spinel with x = 0, 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, and 1/2 was studied by susceptibility and mu+SR measurements. As x increases from 0, T-N (= 61 K) rapidly drops down to 29 K (= T-c) for the x = 1/8 sample, and then decreases slowly with further increasing x. The sample with x = 1/2, in which Mg2+ and Mn4+ ions order to form a 1:3 superlattice, exhibits a sharp ferromagnetic (FM) hysteresis below 15 K The analysis of the ZF-spectrum implies the possibility that the FM order is incommensurate to the lattice. For the samples with 0 < x < 1/2, although the lattice parameter and effective magnetic moment of Mn ions vary monotonically with x, the magnetization at 5 kOe increases in proportion to x, suggesting the existence of FM clusters probably formed by the x = 1/2 phase. Considering the results of related spinels, the cation distribution/concentration or occupancy at the octahedral site is likely to be a good indicator for the appearance of FM order in Li[MgxMn2-x]O-4.
