We read with great interest the case report entitled "Herpetic epithelial ker-atitis after intravitreal injection of bev-acizumab (avastin)" by Khalili et al.1 The authors reported a case of herpetic epithelial keratitis 3 days after intravitreal injection of bevacizumab.In their article, the authors did not state which dose of bevacizumab was injected intravitreally. It is not clear that the authors used a standard dose (1.25 mg/0.05 mL) or an overdose of bevacizumab. We agree with the authors that there are a lot of unknown things about bevacizumab. We think that the authors should also consider possibility of coincidental occurrence of herpetic epithelial keratitis with intravitreal bevacizumab injection in this patient.
