London - Mining group BHP Billiton is seeking to boost capacity by 50% at its Queensland metallurgical coal mines in just over two years compared with output last fiscal year (July-June), when industrial action and wet weather cut pro- duction, according to a company presentation Tuesday. BHP Billiton is focusing on debottlenecking and optimiz- ing capacity at its metallurgical coal mines to realize fully existing system capability, said the presentation prepared by Marcus Randolph, BHP's chief executive of ferrous and coal.
