No.7 unit (with output capacity of 500,000 kW) of Korba coal-fired thermal power station owned by the largest electric power company of India, NTPC Limited (NTPC), started commercial operation on 21st March. Korba station is a large-scale thermal power station located in Chhattisgarh, India. Its No.1 to No.6 units (coal-fired, No.1 to No.3 units with output capacity of 300,000 kW each and No.4 to No.6 units with output capacity of 500,000 kW each) are in operation. With the commercial operation of No.7 unit, total coal-fired power generation capacity of Korba station increased to 2,600,000 kW.
