Kazakhstan's national oil company Kazmunaigas (KMG) is set to undergo a major restructuring, with plans to sell up to 25% of its shares via an initial public offering (IPO) pushed back until next year due because of the coronavirus pandemic (IOD Mar.2'20). KMG, which produces around 480,000 barrels per day of oil and holds minority stakes in Kazakhstan's three largest fields, Tengiz, Kashagan and Karachaganak, is one of numerous national oil companies around the world to have tightened their belts in response to the oil price crash earlier this year.
