Ship recycling firm Green Yard has taken over fellow Norwegian player Kleven Verft, which filed for bankruptcy early this month after fail- ing to secure a loan deal. A Kleven spokesperson said that the takeover has been reached with the bankruptcy estate and the banks involved. Green Yard has plans to continue the ship- yard business, but at the same time plans to expand the core competence to new business areas that “can provide a stable supply of work alongside shipbuilding and maintenance.”
