Muttenz- ExxonMobil and Renewable Energy Group (REG) have signed a joint research agreement with Clariant to evaluate the potential use of celhilosic sugars from sources such as agricultural waste and residues to produce biofuel. The new partnership, which expands on a previously announced joint research agreement between ExxonMobil and REG, will allow ExxonMobil and REG to further optimize REG's bio-conversion process using previously tested and benchmarked celhilosic sugars created through Clari-ant's sunliquid process.
