Brussels-The European Commission(EC)has approved the planned purchase by Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets(MIRA)of Bayer and Lanxess’stakes in Currenta at a total enterprise value of €3.5-billion(PCN,12-19 Aug 2019,p 2).Currenta,owned 60% by Bayer and 40% by Lanxess,manages and operates integrated chemical parks at sites in Leverkusen,Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen,Germany.Bayer's part of the transaction is expected to be completed this year,while Lanxess’portion of the transaction is planned to be finalized by the end of April 2020.
