Gold producer Sibanye-Stillwater plans to reduce its headcount by 3,450 jobs at its Driefontein and Beatrix gold mines in South Africa, the company said Wednesday. Sibanye-Stillwater, South Africa’s largest gold producer, said its H2 2019 production guidance is forecast at between 514,000- 546,000 oz, which is more reflective of forecast production levels prior to the strike and an implied annualized run rate of approximately 1.09-1.15 million oz, it said. The Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU) workers at Sibanye-Stillwater’s Driefontein, Kloof and Beatrix gold mines ended their five month industrial action in April.
