摘要

In the paper published by the Satpathy and coworkers the excess parameters have been fitted to a Redlich-Kister polynomial equation for optimisation of data. Excess quantities were calculated from experimental values and are presented well in some curves as a function of mole fraction (x(2)) of cyanex 923 of the studied binary mixture. Nevertheless, the authors presented values of optimal adjustable parameters were not for the polynomial of the famous Redlich-Kister equation (i.e. versus x(2)-x(1)), but originally for the excess quantity Y-E expressed as an overall three degree polynomial on (x(2)) including implicitly the mole fraction product (x(1).x(2)) in their non-linear regression analysis, which can make probable confusion for some investigators. Overall, the experimental data are valuable except the use of the non-appropriate equation along with non-optimal degree. Moreover, we have completed this study by additional discussion on the famous reduced RK excess functions to convince the readers as well as to reveal the existence of particular mixture composition indicating a structure breaking or weakening of interaction intensity which is supported by the non-linear regression with more polynomial degree.
