摘要

RESULTS FROM A 2006 STUDY OF THE U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) MedKit prototype demonstrate that pre-positioning small caches of medicine in individual households could be an effective strategy in the effort to ensure that the public has timely access to medical countermeasures (medicines and vaccines) in a public health emergency.1 The study, which was conducted in Missouri, finds that most participants complied with directions from health authorities to reserve antibiotics in their homes for emergency use in the event of a release of anthrax and were interested in keeping a MedKit in their home.
