Lloyd Nelson: Blueberry Hill is in the mountains of western North Carolina, south of Asheville near the North Carolina-South Carolina border. We are at the top the Blue Ridge escarpment, where the mountains drop down to the Piedmont. We are at about 2400-1001 elevation on a mountain in the Green River valley, It is a beautiful, secluded, mostly wooded river valley at the headwaters of the Green River, Upstream ate thousands of protected acres. It is really quite a special place. My family has nine mostly wooded acres, with two-and-a-half in blueberries, mixed fruits and gardens. We have planted over a hundred fruit trees — everything from apples to pears to peaches, plums, cherries, apricots, quince, pawpaws, and figs. The blueberries were plantedtwenty years or more before we bought the land (seven years ago), so we were really lucky to find such an ideal situation.
