The HGCA's decision support program, Wheat Disease Manager added 17 pound/ha to crop margins last year. AST season's prototype wheat disease manager (WDM) program was slow to install and tricky to use. Furthermore, it only covered a limited range of t ank mixes, and it didn't allow for strobilurin-resistant septoria -- you had to rely on your own logic when following its suggestions. But those criticisms aren't enough to deter most of the 30 testers to have another go this spring with the program desi gned to help agronomists and growers explore product, timing, and rate options for disease control, In fact, there's now an Arable Decision Support "Community" of about 120 users.
