Plans for reconfiguration of GP pathology across the East and West Midlands have been approved by PCTs. Although a number of areas of the East and West Midlands put up strong arguments to be excluded, ACB News understands that all PCTs have signed up to the process being undertaken by the SHA. A call for feedback on the proposed specification under which tendering will progress was set in motion in June with a deadline of 11th July 2012. The initial proposal for four lots was reported in the May issue of ACB News and has since raised many concerns. Feedback on these proposals has been requested and the final configuration and the number of lots to be tendered is expected to be known in early August.
